Mark Henderson | Lighting Designer

Mark is an Associate and Lighting Consultant to the National Theatre in London and Lighting Adviser to the Almeida. Mark was the recipient of the 1992, 1995, 2000, 2002 and 2010 Olivier Awards for lighting design and in 2006 won a Tony Award for The History Boys on Broadway. Mark also received a Welsh BAFTA for his work on the televised opening of the Millennium Centre Cardiff.  Mark has designed extensively for all the major theatre, opera and dance companies in the UK and has lit over 50 West End productions.

Broadway credits include: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Iceman Cometh, Hamlet, The History Boys (also in Los Angeles); Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

West End credits include: The Sound of Music (also in Toronto/UK tour), Marguerite (also in Tokyo), Amy’s View, Our House , Up for Grabs, On An Average Day, Tonight’s the Night, West Side Story (also UK tours); All My Sons.

Other productions include: Sweeney Todd (Chichester/West End), Sunset Boulevard (UK tour), French and Saunders Live (UK tour); Eddie Izzard (Radio City/US tour).
